Editing

It's a simple matter to edit a page. There are two methods-

  • Click on the “Edit this page” button in the bottom left, which lets you edit the entire page.
  • Click on the small “Edit” button in the text on the page, on the right hand side. Each of these buttons lets you edit a portion of the page which is separated by a heading. A new heading creates a new section, and a new “Edit” button.

The Edit Screen

When editing a page you will see a link to the Formatting Syntax page which tells you all about the text codes used to do formating and links and so on, and a link to the PlayGround page for testing.

Below that are a number of button shortcuts to save typing the text for formatting. They are, in order-

  • Bold, Itallic, Underline, Quote, Strikethrough
  • Then 5 heading levels
  • link to an internal Wiki page
  • link to an external webpage
  • Numbered (or ordered) list
  • Bullet (or unordered) list
  • horizontal rule
  • image

Note, clicking on the last, image icon - brings up a popup window where you can upload new images. It will also show all the available images for a namespaces.

Headings

If you have more than two headings on a page, a Table of Contents (TOC) box is created automatically and placed in the top right of the page. This box contains bookmarks to each heading.
