Forum Rules

The following are the rules for the group. This is the code of conduct we hold you to and what we expect of you when you participate in the group. If you have questions about the rules please leave a comment and we'll try to provide clarity.

We're a social group on Facebook made up of people who have an interest in fighting with foam weapons. We're here to discuss the Hundred Swords game system, styles, ideas, characters and everything that is relevant to the Hundred Swords. We're made up of grizzled veterans, new players and folks everywhere in between.

We want you to have fun but ask that you abide a few rules.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.) Respect your fellow group members! (Don't be a dick!)
You've joined this group because you want to share your experiences or ask questions of other people who share your passion for the Hundred Swords. That's great! We're thrilled you're here!
That said we expect members to have a respectful, reasoned discourse with each other. We expect you to know when to laugh things off, agree to disagree and be a productive contributor to our group.
Sometimes we don't all see eye to eye and in the heat of a debate of discussion things can get a little out of hand. When that occurs we expect group members to treat each other decently and respectfully.
We will not tolerate bad behavior. Calling other members derogatory names or making derogatory comments based on sex, race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation is unacceptable. Threats of physical violence, harassing someone here or in other groups are all clear violations of Facebook's terms of service and will be reported appropriately. Admins will take quick action to remove or block offenders as necessary and document actions and interactions as needed.
If it becomes clear that there is someone you just cannot get along with the simple solution is to block them-- neither of you will have to suffer one another's comments any longer and everyone else is free from the explosive arguments. If things get out of hand you can report a thread and a member of the admin team will examine the discussion.
We're big believers that everyone is welcome to our games and that the tables are big enough for everyone to join in. If you do not see the merit in making everyone feel included, you may kindly take your leave from our group.
2.) Keep it PG-13.
We have members of all ages and that includes people who aren't 18. ( Facebook's Terms of Service require all members to be age 13 or older.) With that in mind we ask that you keep limit depictions of violence, keep cussing to a minimum, no in depth discussions of sex or drugs. Regarding images our nudity policy is to not allow full frontal nudity.
3.) No discussion of illegal activities. Ever.
We've all seen that person who posts or shares something like this: "I know this great place to download Super Explosive Unicorn Patrol for free! Here's the link!"
Unfortunately things like this put the group in danger of deletion. Please don't share or post about illegal activity. Members who do so will be banned permanently. Splitting hairs about something that might be legal in Lower Upper Oomlatia will not help.
4.) Posts should concern the Hundred Swords. (Duh.)
Discussions that are not related to LARPs should be discussed elsewhere as this is a group for people interested in LARPs. Discussions of "real world" things like politics, religion, etc., are not appropriate for this group. Discussing the various religions of characters in the game is fine, but making a post asking about our own members religions would be off topic. Posts should be created with the intent to create thoughtful discussion-- so a post saying "Do you feel like your religion has affected how you interact with LARPs?" would be fine, but something more inflammatory like "Christians are trying to destroy LARPing!" would not be appropriate. Occasionally something in the real world may cross over into the realm of LARP games but this should be the exception, not the rule.
5.) Try not to excessively derail conversations due to... SQUIRREL!
Some wandering in a thread is fine, but please try to be mindful that it does not get too far. The original poster started a discussion for a purpose and when it gets completely off the rails that discussion is no longer happening. Be respectful.
6.) Do not create duplicate threads.
We are a large group, and duplicate topics, especially those of a controversial nature, can quickly explode and get out of hand. In addition, with many active posts on the same topic, other threads where members are trying to start a new discussion will get pushed down the wall. To avoid this, we would like to keep all discussion on the same topic in the same thread.
Similar topics may come up throughout the weeks and months, so we will set the time limit based on the last active post. If a post of the same topic has been commented on in the last 48 hours, please comment there instead of making a new post.
On a final note: That super cool and funny thing you saw somewhere else? Please take a second to see if someone else has already shared that within the group.
Please.
We're begging you.
7.) Follow links at your own peril. (Caveat emptor!)
Links to Kickstarter projects, Patreon efforts or similar all carry an inherit amount of risk. This group is not responsible for things beyond the limits of this group. If you decide to follow a link and participate in a crowdfunding effort for Shifty Never Published Before's "We're going to make a game and not go to Vegas with all the cash!" you do so at your own risk.
Buyer beware.
8.) English only
While we recognize that the scope of Facebook carries this group across international boundaries the primary focus of this board is in English. Relevant posts in another language will unfortunately be deleted.
9.) New members will be screened. Heavily.
If your account is less than 5 days old, you have not posted an introduction and you claim to be a man using a profile picture of the last Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue cover girl your chances of staying in the forum are less than nil.
With that out of the way we encourage you to discuss the group with your friends and invite them to join.
